A new Fe(II) Schiff base complex anchored on mont-K10 (Fe@imine-mont-K10) was synthesized and extensively characterized by FTIR, powder X-ray diffraction, SEM-EDX, TEM, ESR, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), BET surface area measurement, solid state Si-29 NMR and ICP-AES analysis. The catalytic activity of the complex was investigated for hydrogenation of ketones. The results indicated that it exhibited good catalytic activity for hydrogenation of aromatic as well as aliphatic ketones in i-PrOH/CH3CN (1:1) using Na-i-OPr as base at 80 degrees C resulting in moderate to excellent isolated yields (51-99%) of their corresponding products. This paper describes the synthesis, structure, and reactivity of (eta(5)-C5Me5)(2)U(=-P-2,4,6-(Pr3C6H2)-Pr-i)(OPPh3) (2). Furthermore, it reacts as a masked synthon for the divalent uranium fragment (eta(5)-C5Me5)(2)U by elimination of the phosphinidene fragment (2,4,6-(Pr3C6H2P)-Pr-i:) on exposure to small organic molecules such as Ph2S2, Ph2Se2, bipy, ketazines, carbodiimides, diazenes, and organic azides. Developing efficient and selective strategies to approach complex architectures containing (multi)stereogenic centers has been a long-standing synthetic challenge in both academia and industry. Catalytic cascade reactions represent a powerful means of rapidly leveraging molecular complexity from simple feedstocks. Unfortunately, carrying out cascade Heck-type reactions involving unactivated (tertiary) alkyl halides remains an unmet challenge owing to unavoidable beta-hydride elimination. Herein, we show that a modular, practical, and general palladium-catalyzed, radical three-component coupling can indeed overcome the aforementioned limitations through an interrupted Heck/allylic substitution sequence mediated by visible light. Selective 1,4-difunctionalization of unactivated 1,3-dienes, such as butadiene, has been achieved by employing different commercially available nitrogen-, oxygen-, sulfur-, or carbon-based nucleophiles and unactivated alkyl bromides (>130 examples, mostly >95:5 E/Z, >20:1 a). Sequential C(sp(3))-C(sp(3)) and C-X (N, O, S) bonds have been constructed efficiently with a broad scope and high functional group tolerance. The flexibility and versatility of the strategy have been illustrated in a gram-scale reaction and streamlined syntheses of complex ether, sulfone, and tertiary amine products, some of which would be difficult to access via currently established methods.

Although alkynes have been extensively exploited in [2 + 2 + 2] cycloadditions with nitriles to form N-heterocyclic aromatics, the alkyne-like metal carbon triple bond has never been used in [2 + 2 + 2] cycloadditions with nitriles. We demonstrate the synthesis of the first metallapyrazine through [2 + 2 + 2] cycloaddition reactions of a metal carbyne complex with nitriles. o-Phenylenediammines ando-aminophenols were reacted with alpha-oxodithioesters in a highly regioselective fashion to give 2-methylthio-3-aryl/heteroarylquinoxalines and 2-acylbenzoxazoles in 55-94% and 45-86%, respectively, in the presence ofp-toluene sulfonic acid catalyst. Control experiments involving reaction of aniline with a alpha-oxodithioester indicated that the thiocarbonyl group is more reactive than the carbonyl group. Based on this, probable mechanisms for the formation of quinoxalines and benzoxazoles are given. Biological targets of the quinoxalines and benzoxazoles were identified by bioinformatics. It was found that quinoxalines have good binding affinity with human dual-specificity tyrosine-phosphorylation-regulated kinase 1A and benzoxazoles with human carboxylesterase.

The reduction of graphene oxide (GO) was examined by using the extracts of different plants; cloves, white mulberry, black cumin seed, blackthorn, dark grape, and rosehip. The reduction efficiency of extracts was confirmed by XRD and spectroscopic analysis. The layered structure of reduced graphene and graphene nanocomposite decorated with palladium nanoparticles (PdNPs) was observed by electron microscopy techniques. This nanocomposite considered to be an active-selective catalyst for hydrogenation of nitroarenes in organic synthesis. This efficient catalyst can provide to develop clean, environmentally friendly, and energy-efficient production routes in industrial organic chemistry. The aim of the present study is to design and synthesis of new pyrazole-triazolopyrimidine hybrids as potent alpha-glucosidase inhibitors. The target compounds 4a-n were synthesized by one-pot multicomponent approach with good yields and were characterized by various spectroscopic techniques and finally by single crystal X-ray diffraction method (4j). All the newly-synthesized derivatives have been screened for their alpha-glucosidase enzyme inhibition activity and acarbose taken as a standard drug. Among all the tested compounds, 4h has displayed excellent alpha-glucosidase enzyme inhibition activity with IC50 value 12.45 mu M to the standard drug acarbose (IC50: 12.68 mu M). Similarly, the compounds 4f and 4l have exhibited potent activity with IC50 values 14.47 mu M and 17.27 mu M respectively. Structure-activity relationship (SAR) studies of all the title compounds were established. The mode of binding interactions between the alpha-glucosidase enzyme and the compounds were studied. The drug-likeness properties (Lipinski parameters and in silico ADME properties) have predicted for the target compounds. The alpha-glucosidase inhibition, molecular docking and drug-likeness properties of the compounds 4h, 4f and 4l were suggested that these are promising hits for anti-diabetic activity.
