Compound 1 which is the first coordination compound containing the H2TDC and chelating Hdmea ligands so far features an isolated structure containing the centrosym. dinuclear [Co(TDC)(Hdmea)2]2 unit. Notably, the imidazole ligand as one of the reactants is not incorporated into the final structure of compound 1, but it is important to obtain the single crystals suitable for single-crystal X-ray diffraction anal. Compound 2 possesses a one-dimensional (1D) zigzag chain based on the [Mn(TDC)(5,5′-dmbpy)(H2O)] building unit. In addition, the magnetic property of compound 2 is investigated.
