Docking simulation by positioning compound B6 in the FabH structure active site was performed to explore the possible binding model.

The photophysical properties of the synthesized 4-amino-and 4-acetylaminonaphthalimides depend on the solvent polarity and its specific solvating ability due to H-bonding. DDIBNPPI and DDIBPPIN were obtained by rupturing the covalent bond of phenanthrimidazole core to prevent aggregation-induced quenching. In DDIBPPIN, naphthonitrile group was incorporated into azomethine nitrogen of phenanthrimidazole to enhance charge-transfer ability. The DDIBPPIN/CBP:DDIBPPIN-based device shows blue emission with etac (current efficiency) of 4.91/4.10 cd/A, etap (power efficiency) of 4.56/3.84 lm/W, and etaex (external quantum efficiency) of 5.11/5.96%. The etas (exciton utilization efficiency) values of DDIPNPPI and DDIBPPIN are of 27.0 and 30.3%, respectively. The DDIPNPPI and DDIBPPIN materials employed as a host to fabricate green and red phosphorescent organic light-emitting diodes. The red/white devices (with 0.4% dopant concentration) with DDIBPPIN:Ir(MDQ)2(acac) exhibit maximum L of 69889/26319 cd/m2, etaex of 19.6/16.6%, etac of 34.6/35.6 cd/A, and etap of 35.8/36.6 lm/W. The device with DDIBPPIN:Ir(ppy)3/DDIPNPPI:Ir(ppy)3 exhibits green emission [Commission Internationale de l’Eclairage (0.30,0.60)/(0.30,0.60)] with maximum L of 69906/69482 cd/m2, etaex of 17.9/17.0%, etac of 59.8/58.6 cd/A, and etap of 63.6/61.3 lm/W. The white device using DDIBPPI:Ir(ppy)3 (with 0.4% dopant concentration) exhibits maximum L of 22152 cd/m2, etaex of 15.8%, etac of 31.4 cd/A, and etap of 36.1 lm/W.

Samarium(II) iodide-water-amine reagents have emerged as some of the most powerful reagents (E = -2.8 V) for the reduction of unactivated carboxylic acid derivatives to primary alcohols under single electron transfer conditions, a transformation that had been considered to lie outside the scope of the classic SmI2 reductant for more than 30 years. In this article, we present a detailed mechanistic investigation of the reduction of unactivated esters, carboxylic acids, and amides using SmI2-water-amine reagents, in which we compare the reactivity of three functional groups. The mechanism has been studied using the following: (i) kinetic, (ii) reactivity, (iii) radical clock, and (iv) isotopic labeling experiments. The kinetic data indicate that for the three functional groups all reaction components (SmI2, amine, water) are involved in the rate equation and that the rate of electron transfer is facilitated by base assisted deprotonation of water. Notably, the mechanistic details presented herein indicate that complexation between SmI2, water, and amines can result in a new class of structurally diverse, thermodynamically powerful reductants for efficient electron transfer to a variety of carboxylic acid derivatives. These observations will have important implications for the design and optimization of new processes involving Sm(II)-reduction of ketyl radicals. (Chemical Equation Presented).
